Why you should optimize your emails for mobile

I’ve given some tips on how to optimize email marketing emails for mobile users, but after posting some questions on Facebook and Twitter it looks like many of you haven’t actually even looked at what your emails look like on mobile screens.  Here’s why you should be following those tips:



The eMarketer Daily recently reported that 31% of mobile users check their emails on their mobile phone more than four times daily; 32% check 1-3 times a day.  These days the odds are strong that your marketing email is being read on a mobile instead of a desktop.  In fact, from October 2010 until December 2010 13.36% of email opens were opened on a mobile.

I could throw more statistics at you, but I think this is pretty convincing already – don’t you?
